hi every body

i install oracle DB10g AND DEVELOPER SUITE 10g

and i searched and set all NLS_LANG in registry to
arabic_united arab emirates.ar8mswin1256
my windows is arabic enabled and also i set time&zone to kuwait, riadth

i have problem with arabic and persian(farsi) characters
in fact i want to develop arabic(and farsi) GUI
in form developer when i create forms i change
prompt of text items to arabic characters. that work fine
but when i change label of Buttons to arabic
it displays strange characters or some ???? characters
any solution?

another question is that form builder in default
include toolbar and menu bar at above of each form
how can i remove these from my form??

thanks in advance

First, please do NOT press 'enter' at the end of each line that you type in your post.

Search this forum for 'arabic' and see what the other people have done. I think they use 'unicode'.

To remove the 'default' toolbar, in the form builder, at the module level, change 'menu module' from 'default&smartbar' to 'null' by pressing the 'inherit' icon at the top of the 'property pallette' (two red bars with a blue arrow between them).

hi Dear David
another question
i want develop an application by oracle to run on a pc
similar to applications that develop by VB
that end user clicks on an icon and application starts
why when i run forms they run in browser??
how can i run a form outside of browser ?
where can i find oracle source code for such a simple
application to guide me more in form developing?
in fact i dont know means of form builder
is it a tool for DBA's to interact with db
easily ? or it is a tool to develop
GUI's of an application??

thanks alot for your time

Again, "please do NOT press 'enter' at the end of each line that you type in your post." If you keep on typing the lines will wrap automatically!

Oracle Forms is a full blown database and multi-user application development system. If you want a small system with a single 'exe' then use VB or Access. If you want to use Oracle then get Oracle 10g R2 XE and develop your stuff in Application Express.
